A short guide to selecting the right cleat.

  • Cleat numbers (e.g. No.5, No.8) refer to standard cleat body sizes (Ellis Patents / F4P style), where each "No." corresponds to a cable outer-diameter range.
  • Cleat selection is also influenced by short-circuit fault current withstand, spacing, and support orientation — these tables give the dimensional fit only.
  • For short-circuit rated installations, refer to the manufacturer's data sheet and IEC 61914.
